An update & how you can support our 2 WI medical students in Cuba

Dear friends,                                                                                               August 3, 2018

Our Wisconsin medical students studying at ELAM in Cuba are back home in the Milwaukee area this summer. Both of them are studying for the U.S. Boards test. Olive is in Milwaukee and Alexandra is in a four week intense study program in Urbana, Illinois, to assist in studying for this extremely important step in their journeys to become medical doctors.

You have the opportunity to help them this summer as they are studying for the exams. Olive would greatly appreciate food, such as a casserole she could heat up in a microwave oven that she will have access to. Also salads, fruits and veggies would be welcome. As she will be near the Central United Methodist Church, 639 N 25th street, this would be a good drop off place, and Sunday after service (i.e., at or shortly after 11:15 am) would be the best time to drop off any food donations. If anyone is interested in doing this, please let me know. I would be willing to set up a schedule so all the food does not come on the same week.

Another way that you could help both of our aspiring doctors, is in the form of a monetary donation.  As they will be studying virtually 24/7, neither of them will have the time to work or earn an income.

Would you please consider supporting these students? You could make checks out to the Wisconsin Coalition to Normalize Relations in Cuba, and drop off or mail c/o Atty. Art Heitzer, 633 West Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 1410, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53203; email is: artheitzer@gmail.com.

Alex has a PayPal account that you can donate directly to.  Her email address is alexandraskeeter@gmail.com.  Follow these instructions if you are unfamiliar with using PayPal.com:  http://aifs2.pvdveen.net/?p=152

You can also go to a website that Olive created if you would like to sponsor her for $5 or more per month on a rolling donation.  She is very much in need of continuing support over the next 3 years until graduation.  The website is: www.patreon.com/olivealbanese.

Please contact me, Rebecca Skeeter (rebecca.skeeter@gmail.com), or Art Heitzer.

Your help would be appreciated by both of these dedicated future doctors!
