Living Activism Benefit
Please come to see and hear some extremely talented young musicians you may never have heard before, including Rebelion Ixchel with outstanding vocals; Proyecto Bembe (a South-North project joining Latino and African-American youth performing Afro-Latin music); award winning poet Carmen Murguia; and Tony Baez, who has performed throughout Latin America and the U.S. and is an outstanding musicologist of songs of love and struggle from the Hispanic world.
Admission by donation. All proceeds will benefit Wisconsin’s two young women studying in Havana, Cuba’s Latin American School of Medicine, as well as Pastors for Peace/IFCO, the U.S. coordinator for this program. The event will take place at The Coffee House, 1905 W. Wisconsin Ave., in Milwaukee.
